How Speedrunners broke Castlevania's Scrolling

While looking at videos of how retro games operated in order to get ideas for implementing enemy spawns in my own Uzebox game, I came across a really in-depth video that analyzes how the scrolling works in Castlevania, and then how speedrunners exploited the quirks in order to create controlled glitches that helped them skip parts of the level.



I'm hoping there will be more in depth analysis of how retro games implemented things, because I think some of the techniques could be directly applicable to the Uzebox.
