Are you going to create a (Digikey) BOM list item Uze?
I can put it on the todo list. Problem is it has to be regularly reviewed and time spent finding suitable replacement. Parts goes obsolete/end of production all the time.

It looks like it'd be worthwhile. There are a few people on the X16 forum alone who have openly said they'd build a Uzebox if there was a kit and many more will be thinking that I'm sure. It is a couple of hours of work you'd be saving people in doing so. I'll tell the X16 forum when you've done it.

Jimmy Dansbo will be able to comment better on the relevancy of the current BOM as he built his Uzebox last weekend.

I think all Uze needs to know is that you were able to order all of the parts listed on the BOM without issue and that all of the component item numbers were still correct? I presume you bought them all from Digikey apart from the SNES connectors?

I am not 100% sure, but I think there were a couple of the parts in toe F5 BOM that I needed to find replacements for. Nothing too difficult, and all is ordered from Digikey.

X16 2023 update

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nyByDNQuMMI

SPOILER

It's going to be a whopping $500 USD to buy a fully assembled Gen 1 X16 Developer board! At least that's $200+ cheaper than the MEGA65, which is about the most positive thing I can say about that.

It doesn't seem the X16 has networking sorted yet so the Uzebox could beat the X16 to having a working online game yet. It seems they were looking at FujiNet too but may not be using that.

I like X16 and a lot of stuff 8 bit guy does. But that is a bit pricey, unless there was guaranteed compelling community and software. Then ahain 8 bit guy has made some cool games(those RTS are sweet), and has quite a following, so maybe that will pan out.

Either way I like the idea of beating them to a networked game!

Just in case anyone here doesn't subscribe to Adrian's Digital Basement (because you didn't know about it I presume? I can't imagine any Uzeboxer not loving his channel), here's his deep dive into the X16:

I don't think I can justify spending $400+ on an X16, I'm quite happy with my Uzebox and my Amiga, but I do think its a very interesting platform and its great to see people are getting them at last after 4/5 years in development.
