I think I already fought with those tools. I tried to recompile under Dev Cpp (not the best IDE I agree)
MinGW is simple to install and works quite well. There's things to watch when installing along WinAVR since both are GNU based and sometimes it will use the wrong make tool and such if the paths are not set correctly.
Also, tell me if the way figures are organized is disturbing or not. LaTeX indeed doesn't put the figure where you actually write it in the code, which is what is done for official publications but which can be disturbing when there are a lot of figures. I tried to reference them the best way I can but it can still be annoying.
So far so good for me. :)

Hi everybody!

I updated the guide. Chapters 2 and 8 are now complete (I missed the windows parts for the emulator and AVR Studio IDE).
I am now working on Chapter 4. Current version is wrong since I said the regulators were using switching technology but they are linear regulators in fact :D . So, don't read Chapter 4, I will correct it asap!

New link is here (updated in first post as well).

Looking forward to hearing your comments/advices!
See you!

It's coming to shape, keep it up! :)

I've got something for you (and other Uzeboxers out there) that perhaps it could come in handy if you want to do a chapter on the kernel inner working. It's a write-up I did in 2010 for a book on microcontroller that never came up. It's a mix of existing stuff I've written over the years and also new diagrams, flowcharts and explanations.

I doubt emch is still around, but there's at least another french guy active on the board...that 'Uze6666' guy...yeah, seems he's from Quebec, Canada! Vive la France et vive le Quebec Libre!

A french translations has been discussed a few times. Is English commonly use or taught in France? In Canada, it's taught very early on since North America is pretty much totally dominated by English.
