Topics regarding the Uzebox hardware/AVCore/BaseBoard (i.e: PCB, resistors, connectors, part list, schematics, hardware issues, etc.) should go here.

Well - it is prototype 1. There are a lot of mistakes with it and it is not the cast plastic parts yet. I have learned from my mistakes made so far and the next proto should look better and have more features :)

But I am VERY happy with how it looks and the reception it is getting. So thank you all. Hearing your encouraging words helps a lot.

Do you have plans yet for the battery system on this?

D3thAdd3r, Sorry. Missed this question. Yes I am going to use the same Samsung phone battery as the Asteroid Belt did.

BUT - here is the exciting news and the reason I looked at this thread.
The 2.36" LCD screen

The 2.36" LCD is now able to show pictures from the Uzebox straight from the AVR (No AD723 needed). There is currently a second Mega644 controlling the LCD. It does not have the horses to interpolate the pixels, so sometimes pixels get missed or get wide. The next revision is going to have a 75Mhz ARM and an FPGA so it will smooth the horizontal pixels out to make an even better looking display.

It does look amazingly good already though.

Bonus is that the 32bit CPU and FPGA are cheaper than a Mega644 :)

Nice, so it finally plays! :)

The "nearest interpolation" of the LCD I think is passable at that tiny size. I guess pixels aren't actually missed, as far as I see your 5 cycles / pixel Tempest display had some duplicated (which is what should happen there since ~4.67 cycles / pixel would be rectangular). The image' location on the display is a bit odd, though. I take it that you had some special code running for now.
