3D printing at Shapeways

Post by uze6666 » Sat Nov 08, 2014 5:07 am

Just submitted my first order to Shapeways to see how my Uzebox case parts will come out. I must say I'm flabbergasted at the low prices! Have a look at all the parts I have ordered: various shapes and different materials including polished metals. This would have cost several tens of thousands dollars (if not more) to tool all those those parts a couple years ago. You have to remember that those are for just one part! This is truly a new revolution in manufacturing. At those prices, I'll only use my 3D printer to test ideas and rough prototypes.

Hopefully, in not too long you'll be able to order your own, one of a kind enclosure for your Uzebox. In the color and material of your choice including metals...even real, solid gold if you have deep pockets! :P

Order should arrive beginning of December, I'll keep you posted.
