Re: Uzebox Code Challenge 2013 Opens!

Hi guys, the official dealine is supposed to be in about 26 hours!! Though we did not get feedback from most of the contestant in a while. I'm doing a quick survey...so apart those who commented lately, who's still in??? Would a 1 week extension help a lot of you finish or polish their game? Cast your votes!

Well, I have been fairly active/vocal with my progress so no surprises.

I will have a playable game done by tonight.

It wont have any thing fancy like high score tables.

It won't have sound, but I wasn't ever really planing on doing sound. I was going to leave it as a B&W silent game (like a silent B&W movie).

A week would let me do different levels and the like.

Of course. The many bugs in my game have stolen too much time.

Gerkl,

I can try lend you a hand with C things if you like.

I don't know much about UzeBox specifics apart from Mode6 though.

Ahh crap...didn't realize it was midnight, June 1st - GMT!

I'm going to post the demo I was able to coble together as soon as I get home from work. It doesn't represent the finished game I wanted it to, but it's a good deal of progress considering the short amount of time I actually got to work on it (~2 months).

I plan on continuing to work on it until it's a full, finished game, but I owe it to myself and everyone to post an entry.
Really excited to play all the games people have come up with!
Best of luck guys!

*snicker* I'm coding away trying to finish up the last of my bugs, I'd gladly take a week extension or a the least a weekend extension! June 3rd Monday Morning :)

Just to be clear with no extension it's due tomorrow June 1st right?

All right guys, I think it's approriate for a bunch of reasons (one being that my prizes are not ready!), we will be extending the challenge's dealine by one week to Friday June 7th 12:00 GMT-5. No more extension after that! I'll try to reach and push the other contenders in the meanwhile. Those who already sent in entries you can resend another until the dealine, we will only review the last one sent in.

Now, back to coding and I wish you good luck!

Uze,

How many people are still going? I assume from your message it's not just three of us that responded here.

I would be glad about help - I'm losing my last hope to fix this bug. I really don't know where it is. In the current version my game crashes in the second map. If I activate music, it already crashes in the first one.

You can look about my source, but it's written untidy and about 2200 lines.

You're a saint Uze!

I wasn't really satisfied with what I might have turned in for an entry. If I'm given an extra week, I might just have something that would resemble a proper entry!

At least this way I can burn the midnight oil a bit to try and get some more of it fleshed out.
Thanks again, and keep up the hard work guys!
