Re: Outpost in the Dragon's Maw

Yes - I have always bought population - as many people at the lowest price it would allow. To get those extra swap turns. Maybe it is my imagination but I also kinda feel like the logic might punish you by letting extra dragons through if you spend too much gold on population. Is it sneaky like that...

Re: Outpost in the Dragon's Maw

cool. With the new knowledge about the markets I can consistently get into the 50s. However it just takes one or two of the giant dragons to get through and it is a downward spiral. One thing I though would be in the rules is some kind of logarithmic population growth. That would help balance out th...

Re: Outpost in the Dragon's Maw

OK - just played again knowing about the market. Got to month 58 on first try which is 10 more than I had previously done.

Re: Outpost in the Dragon's Maw

Ah - I didn't work out the markets. I was ignoring them as I thought they only gave only gold for removing big combos. By the time I would make it to level 40 or so I would have rows of powerful towers and be killing the dragons slower than earlier levels.

Re: Outpost in the Dragon's Maw

This is very awesome.

I can get into the forty month mark with plenty of population. But then I always bleed 10ish plus settlers per round and die in 3 or 4 rounds.

Re: Weber's Rants (tutorials)

This game looks really interesting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HOl2swTtheM Perhaps vector, RLE, or some other mode could handle this well? To be honest I almost think this could be possible with Tiles + sprites? I was obviously inspired by Gravitar/Thrust/Oids for the 3rd level of VectorGame. ...

Re: Tempest is possible

Sure point me at the mouse protocol stuff and I will try implement it.

This is the UFO - the thing that flies above the rim and shoots lightning bolts down at you.

Re: Tempest is possible

I am currently struggling with a rewrite of how the Z movement works.

There has been a ToDo: in the comments for sometime saying I needed to change this behaviour. It has bitten me in the arse now that I have an alien/enemy that has to fly above the Z rim and shoot DOWN at you.
