Re: Clone SNES joypad compatibility

Today I ordered 2 of these: https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005006250822212.html and one of these: https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005004542048114.html £12.34 all-in including postage No luck with either of these. The SNES pads did not work. I have updated the FAQ to warn people off buying SNES con...

R36S budget emulation device

I've already created topics for another couple of retro gaming devices on these forums but today I stumbled across the r36s whilst browsing AliExpress and it seems like amazing value for $40. It's got a gameboy-like vertical form factor (but with 2 analogue sticks and 4 buttons on the back), quad co...

Re: Uzebox Ω - easier to build, SCART friendly Uzebox

I have updated the Omega BOM files again. The BOM previously used 2332948 for its 18pf 100V cap which Farnell only have 22 left in stock. They're clearly going to sell out of that component very shortly and then Farnell say it could be 3 months before they get any more stock so I have swapped that f...

Re: Kernel addon for support for slow game controllers

I gave Thorstens slow controllers repo another go tonight. This time I did not also apply the sound engine fix required for IKD and my slow controllers still don't work with the output IKD .uze file, built using this patched kernel. I presume something has changed with gcc since that has caused this...

Re: Uzebox SCART interface wiki page updated

I made a few tweaks to the SCART and the Omega wiki pages today, added a few more details on CSYNC vs CVBS SCART cables and made a few minor tweaks / corrections here and there.

Which converter did you buy DA? I wonder if it only supports EuroSCART but you're using a JP21 SCART cable?

Re: Uzebox Ω - easier to build, SCART friendly Uzebox

Hi Will I'm aware there are at least two different types / wiring of Megadrive 2 SCART cable - csync and cvbs. Are there just the two variants of Megadrive 2 / Genesis 2 SCART cable? Do you know if there was such a thing a US Genesis 2 SCART cable that had different wiring to a (UK) Mega Drive 2? W...

Re: DIY Uzebox / SNES arcade joystick

I have started printing my second attempt and I have added this tip to the first post: If you are using Cura to print this, it is recommended you change the Z Seam Alignment (under the Walls section of the Cura's expert print settings) to Random when you are printing the top part to avoid having a v...

Re: Uzebox Ω - easier to build, SCART friendly Uzebox

I'll let you know next week if I have a spare copper joystick case to send you.

I have emailed my cable guy to see if he is aware of there being more than two types of MD2 SCART cable.
