The main character Toorum must save his beloved princess Adela from the evil Maharadja("Great King") Kovalsky!! Toorum must act fast before the timer expires and the Maharadja seduces her, go!! Collect gold along your way to increase your score and keys to open doors in your path. When you are hurt, find a heart to regain health and that's all you need to know! If you do well enough, you can enter the high score leader board. Afterwards try out the level editor and make your own adventures!

Toorum's Quest is directly based on Petri Hakkinen's source code for "Toorum's Quest II" which is a port of a mod for his Steam game Legend of Grimrock. Originally this ran on his custom Arduino like console simply called "The Box", which is about half an Uzebox specification wise. Graphics were ripped, converted to Uzebox color space, upscaled to Uzebox resolution, etc. and music and sound effects created as the mod sound system is not similar enough to Uzebox. Several fine tunings happened to convert the larger tile size for player interactions and collision and run at 60hz logic instead of 25hz(was originally a PAL 50hz video signal, waiting 2 vsyncs). Additional features were added for the Uzebox version since we have twice the specs after all, need to justify them! Overall the code was very clean and easy to port and add on to, so development was a real pleasure. If you like Uzebox you will probably find some things on Petri's blog[1] interesting as well; check it out!
