Good times ! Maker faire was a blast ! Definitely need to go back , but as a visitor this time.
Tons of people stopped by , and although not everything happened as planned , we improvised and had a great presence at the faire. We did not expect Sooo many young kids to crowd the booth, amazingly retro games appeal to them, and their parents . I don't how many times I heard, "son, this is how games looked like when I was your age"
Another interesting point. We quickly realized that 95% of the public believed is was an emulator on custom hardware until we explained that it wasn't . So we started our sales pitch with "this is not emulation, these are not Roms " . Some guy even started accusing us of copyright infringemeny. Lol
Since I only ever made one game for the uzebox, I thought I would have problems with highly technical questions but very few people actually ever asked anything complicated.
Uzebox ftw
