New Game: Lode Runner!

Happy anniversary Uzebox! Today marks the second year of the Uzebox project and I've decided to celebrate it by releasing my latest game, the classic Lode Runner! I've been working for quite some time on this one and I think it's polished enough to be enjoyed by the Uzeboxers out there. The only thing I would have like to add was music, but I could just not find anything that fit (plus not getting annoying after a couple levels), so there you are, just like the PC version...the music of silence, though there's sound FXs!

The controls are pretty obvious and you can press start during game play to pause, restart the level and quit!

Edit: The wiki entry is here and the sources are here.

Cheers, hope you enjoy!

Awesome as usual - very close to the original. I don't know how you find the time to do it all.

Has it been two years? I guess only one and a bit for me :P It's growing into an impressive game library for such a niche interest group.

This one definitely comes across as very polished, Uze. It looks like you had enough spare room without the music to avoid cutting any presentation corners (I like the presented by Uze logo). 50 levels is huge for a retro game (not unlike Lee's Sokoban). It doesn't seem to suffer from not having music. I don't remember the C64 Pitfall version having music, and it was a favorite back in the day.

Overall, a very fitting Uzebox anniversary gift: another trip down nostalgia lane. Congrats, mate! :D

This is one of my favourite games! Nice graphics, simple principle and great action.

Anybody had finished all levels?

I stuck at level 8, I don't know how to get gold in center (there's one guard, and when I jump (fall) from top, he always catch me). Can you help me?

Original LR had 150 levels, I think, it will be easy to release LR2 and LR3, with other levels (and maybe new tileset).

Thanks Martin. Well, I've completed most level, but maybe not all of them. So it *may* be impossible to complete certain levels. I'll have a look. Level packs could be cool, but I somehow lost some source for the final version of the game, the one with the level menu. I'd have to rewrite it, and right now, the Zelda project is taking all my time. :D
