My sd card reader isn't working

Postby JRoatch » Sat Oct 31, 2009 4:28 am

I was going to try out the new version of bcdash on my AVcore, but the card reader isn't working anymore.
It was at first having difficulty a few days ago, sometimes it work sometimes didn't, but now it stop working entirely.

What should I do?

Can you get other games running with it? Because I've not made a .uze file before. I just ran it through the Packrom tool and may have screwed something up. Maybe someone can confirm that bcdash.uze is a valid bootloader file? I can't help beyond that.

I actually made a .uze file from the hex myself with packrom in rompacker(not packrom) witch has been working fine for me all this time (except for hex files to big to fit on the uzebox w/bootloader). I don't think it's a software problem, because it can't even open the sd card ("SD INTI FAIL")

I might try reflashing the bootloader tomorrow just in case though.

Seems there was a problem with that .uze file. Uze has attached a fixed one here.

Try with another card. I had one that decided to die when I was coding Uzeamp. Also I noticed that sometime the micro sd is not 100% aligned in the slot and you have to push it a bit laterally to make it work again. Popping the card out and in again usually solved that problem just after flashing the chip.

The sd card isn't dead. so I tried reflashing the ATMEGA, reformating the SD card with the updated uze file, popping the card in and out, and pushing the card in every direction.
Nothing worked. I even tried pushing the metal connectors, though I think that mabye that made it worse.

I say it's broken (or I broke it) untill futher notice.

What fuses do I need to set to start from address as if it had no bootloader. Hexdecimal values would be alright.
Or do you think I should just insert a jump instruction to jump directly to the game where the bootloader is?

Edit: I just answered my own question. I just add :04F000000C9400006C to the end of any fille I want to flash and that effectivaly removes the bootloader and starts directly into the game, without changing fuses.

Normally you just had to remove the BOOTRST fuse, and it would reset execution at address 0000. I guess that line of your add a jump at the bootloader reset vector back to address 0000??
