Theory of sound generation
Re: Theory of sound generation
A tracker could be a good tool to compose music for the Uzebox. However, I retained the MIDI format because its arranged as continuous stream of event, rather than patterns+tracks. It takes much less memory too. One could create instruments using the nine 256 bytes waves and some noise sound and create music like that. If the tracker can not export to MIDI, a converter would have to be coded. Note that a tracker could not use the internal Uzebox instrument streams then. It's a stream of events just like the song, but used to modify the parameters of an instrument (pitch, volume, etc). It can create very interesting and complex sound effects. Well, unless someone has an open source tracker and hacks it to support that. That would be freaking awesome...Anyone?

It would be cool to hack a tracker. I will start looking.
