Atmel Samples

Post by TonyD »

Have Atmel stopped giving out free samples?

I know times are hard but I've tried three times now over the last 6-weeks to get a couple of samples of the 644 and a Xmega for a project at work ;) but with no success.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

I tried ordering samples through there sample page a long time ago(I would never use this again). So far it has been 6 months and still no samples. I either filled out the sheet wrong or they just don't ship them. Anyway, I would try contacting Atmel directly or going through a distributor or something.

Its only taken 6-months :x for the first of my Atmel samples to eventually arrive (two weeks ago), but only after I complained to my local Atmel rep/office (UK) and they ordered them directly. My local rep says Atmel have been having a lot of problems with their "sample" ordering system.

Best to get samples through sales reps, if you can link yourself to something corporate.

Ah, but the price is high: sales reps - they either never call you back, or they call you every three weeks for the rest of your life.... *sigh*
