Topics regarding the Uzebox hardware/AVCore/BaseBoard (i.e: PCB, resistors, connectors, part list, schematics, hardware issues, etc.) should go here.

Uzebox based mini arcade cab

Post by Harty123 »

Hi,

I want to built an Uzebox mini arcade cabinet based on the Arcadi iPad mini arcade system...

Today I received my Arcadi iPad mini from Amazone UK:

In the next days I will open the case, add the Uzebox hardware and a 5,7 inch TFT, mount all parts, put new labels to the enclosure.

I will post my progresses in this thread.

Cheers

Hi!
I do not understand something, it will be your own project or a turnkey solution like this - http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/e762/?

Putting an uzebox in either of the enclosures is not turn key. Nether have a display and both use Bluetooth to connect to the ipad.

I'm using only the case of the Arcadi iPAD mini cab for my arcade cab - no iPAD. It's much more easier as building an case by my self.

Today I removed all foils from the enclosure. I'm using a special spray for this job.

Very interesting! The device is lightweight, at the table or the floor is not rigidly attached ... During the game will move on the surface? Convenient control? Or at work to keep him in the hands of need?

There is no moving on the surface of the table - it has bumpons below the case. You need both hands for control. The joystick is not the best. The other disadvantage are the 2 button. This limits the possible games. I have connected button A and Start. So all old retro games (Arkanoid, space invaders, Pacman ... ) will run.
