Basic code clean-up, please test

Hi,

I did some basic code clean-up to remove warnings from uzem.
Can someone please test it on Mac/Windows?

I've tested with Linux/gcc 4.4.3

Note:
Patch applies to r181.

Hi Filipe, compile and runs fine on Windows. Though activating -Wall still yield lots of warning. So it though to see which one you addressed.
