Her's some classics:
-Castlevania 1 & 3
-Ninja Gaiden
-Super Mario 2 & 3
-Contra
-Mike Tyson's Punch-Out
-Metroid
-Mega Man 2
-Zelda
Of those, Castlevania, Contra, Megaman 2 and Punch-Out were some of the best games I remember, mostly due to great game play and awesome music.

Good list those are the main classics for sure. Teenage Mutant Ninja/Hero Turtles are great games IMO. Especially the first one if you give it a chance. Adventures of Lolo is good if you like logic games. Rc pro am 1/2 are awesome Little known games that are good: Street fighter 2010, Fire n Ice/Solomon key 2, world cup soccer. Lots more

Strangely, I own most of the games listed above.
I have to say that the games you will want to get are going to depend on what games interest you.
If you like RPG's, you should definately get Final Fantasy, and Dragon Warriors 1 thru 4 and check out Ultima: Quest for the Avatar. Dragon Warrior 4 was the largest NES game ever produced with a whole 1 MEG ROM chip.
While I thought Ninja Turtles wasn't bad, other people did not like that game at all. I'd highly recommend Double Dragon 1 and 2 (3 was garbage), Double Dragon Battle Toads: The Ultimate Team, River City Ransom and regular battle toads if you can handle the high frustration level that game can cause.
Uze nailed Megaman 2 as probably the best one. I liked the first 3 the most out of the 6 for the regular NES.
Other games I'd recommend are some excellent puzzle games for VS. play. Dr. Mario is a game that everyone can play, Bomberman 2 for the NES would allow 3 players to go at it using the multi-tap. Why they didn't make it 4 player is beyond me.
Almost in the same vien as Metroid, Another favorite of mine was Kid Icarus.
Top sports games (in my opinion) are Bad News Baseball, Dusty Diamond's Softball, Double Dribble, and Tecmo Bowl.
The list could go on for different catagories, but I'll stop it here.

Zelda and Mega Man 2 are great games. I bought a boxed Zelda the other day from digihoard.com.
Re: I've bought a NES, any recomendable game to buy?
we use to have one when I was a kid . But, my evil brother would never let me play it , leaving me to play with my POS sega master system... therefore my list of favorites is short
Ice Hockey ( i still play that one regularly on my arcade machine loaded with emulators )
Dr Mario
megaman
Metroid
R.C. pro-am
super mario 3
Tetris ( not the crappy Tengen one , Tengen... )
Just stay away from this obvisouly unlicensed streaming pile of elephant dung :
