A blast from the past whilst browsing

Post by Roukan »

Character Maker published in Vol. 1, No. 5, May 1985 on this webpage:

Just to alleviate any confusion my full name is Richard James Croskell - but most people call me Jim.

I remember getting paid the princely sum of £125 for this, my 1st ever published program some 27 years ago.

Sadly I never got much more of my work published (one in MSX Computing which I have the actual magazine here somewhere) due to staring work in the IT industry which pretty much laid to waste computing as a hobby for me :(, that's why you find me lurking here trying to relive the old days ;)

** Edit **

The MSX computing one is here "64 CPL" on page 50, didn't get paid as much for this one think it was about £50 :P

Hehe awesome...yeah those were the days where I would type endless programs from magazines! :D Eh, and where the authors were also getting paid for their submissions. Great times!

Same for me...pretty much why I started the Uzebox project!
