WIP: Kismet

Post by Roukan » Thu Nov 22, 2012 3:41 pm

Hi All

Thought I'd make a post for my 2nd Uzebox project - Kismet (Dice Game)

Information --> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kismet

Still keeping it relatively simple for now (though I do have a couple of NES ports on the go --> "Binary Land" / "Palamedes" these are much longer term projects - so don't expect to see them any time soon :? )

Brief overview
Mode: 1
Players: 1 - 4
High score table: 3 Entries

Not a huge amount to see ATM:

1) Intro screen with number of players selection 1-4 (think I'll be changing music though - what do you think of it?).
2) Name entry screen for selected number of players.
3) Very basic play screen layout.

As usual any comments / feedback are always welcome.

Cheers

Roukan / Jim

Very nice title screen. Can't hear the music right now, so can't comment on that. Great work so far, keep it up. :)

Would it be possible for someone to add a new wiki entry for this project please. :)

I'm OK with editing an existing entry, but no idea how to add a new one

Quick update:

Got the main loop in and quite a bit of stuff working now.

Just a couple of main things to add in:

1) Category selection to score against

2) Score analysis.

Then I'll have another video to show, hopefully not too long after that a playable HEX file to post.

Cheers

Update: New video (NB: No audio)

Game play now implemented along with scoring.

Not including sound FX, I would say I'm about 80% done.

Todo

1) Skip over previously scored categories.
2) Check and process when a player gets more than one Kismet.
3) Sort leader board on current total score for 2-4 players
4) Sound FX / Music
5) High score(s) check & save.

Cheers
