Reels of fortune

Post by Kilo »

I started a new game today. Since we have too few casino games, I thought, I'll start with a slot machine.

The graphics are not finished yet.
So far, all three rollers can start and stop as desired.
Of course, still missing the profit distribution, etc.

All in all, the gameplay will probably be similar to video poker. Just with rollers instead of cards.

btw: The rollers begin to spin quickly and eventually slow down. The result is random.

The last digit of Pi is 7! I calculated this, as I counted to infinity yesterday!

Not a bad idea here! Technology-wise it is a nice pick for Mode 1 where you can exploit that the 2 byte / tile VRAM just holds pointers: with proper tile design, you can fake the vertical scrolls for making this work really smooth!

That's right.
Thank you.
Well the problem is, the more graphic I will put on the slot machine design the more flash will be used.
The movement of the rolls are ok for me. Will try it on a TV instead of the Emu.
There must be a highscore list as well. Hope it will fit.
Does anyone know which EEPROM sections are still unused?

Edit:
Made the profit function work. Like Videopoker you start with 100 credits. You can bet between 1 and 5 credits.
Every three of a kind symbol give you different win profit. Also every pair of a symbol on the left and right roll.
Multiplied with your bet.
I will upload a demo later in order to get some feedback of you of the gameplay.

The graphics look real nice! It reminds me of the handheld casino games my Grandma would play. Nice work!

Well thank you! The game took me one day at all.
Will do some bugfixes now and maybe a highscore.
