WIP: Uze-A-Move

Post by cosam »

Hi all,

Another quick preview for you today, this time a bubble shooter puzzle game (think Bust-A-Move/Puzzle Bobble). This is running in the emulator at not quite full speed, so it's a bit jerky here and there. Unfortunately there's no sound in the video; there is in the game itself.

I made a simple wiki page for this game, which has a much clearer screen shot.

I'm using 8x12-pixel tiles and the upgraded beta kernel with mode 3 upgrade. This game as it stands would likely be limited to one-player only without the extra RAM, and this game really needs two!

Cheers,

Steve

Wow, looks awesome Steve! I guess I have no excuses now to not finish up the kernel upgrade! 8-)

Thumbs up!

It looks briliant! It's funny, that I was thinking about puzzle bobble for uzebox just few hours before. I think it will be my favourite game. How much memory will 2player mode need?

Hey Cosam, any progress on your game?? I got the chance to play on your early ROM in September and I can say it was really promising, the graphics quality and interface of the game is truly awesome. Not only that but 2 players games are really rare and sought after. You can't let us down with only that teaser video, can you? ;)

Funnily enough, I was just this week thinking I needed to get back to this one... has it really been that long?! There are some niggly bits that need doing and time is a bit short right now. I'll try and pick it up again after the holidays - I guess I should make 240x216 my new year's resolution! <groan>

Sorry to dig up an old thread, and certainly I shouldn't talk about actually finishing a game...But my stalking revealed cosam has logged in recently. This looks so great, and from the video seems to be totally playable. Any progress on this one Steve? The game seems destined for Uzebox greatness :)
