Hi everyone! I'm now officially a member of the Uzebox family
A couple of days ago me and my son assembled the euzebox kit that comes from Harty. While it worked right on first boot we somehow managed to corrupt the bootloader. Thanks to the awesome community here we got it back to life and build it in a router-donor enclosure!
On to the pics:
All the parts and tools ready to be assembled
My son practicing some soldering
Half way there
I had this dead router laying around and thought why not
Took some measurements, hacked some plastic and glued some motherboard stand-offs
The front button originally served as a wireless toggle, but was too short to reach the push-button I used on the euzebox.
I drilled a hole a glued in a piece of plastic.
and it went like this
Measured and sketched the outlines of the controller inputs
Glued them and soldered some cables for the pcb.
After fixing the bootloader issues it was ready to rock!
The button also serves as a power indicator!
This was the most fun thing i did since I stopped building guitars and I'm already hooked!
New Euzebox in a router enclosure
Re: New Euzebox in a router enclosure
Looks neat! And there is even some room in that box for expansion! (Common things are an SPI RAM which we are experimenting with recently, both for music and video, and an ESP8622 for connectivity: these parts are already included on an 1.3.1 Uzebox PCB. Of course neither of these are required for playing, we don't even have any complete game using either as of now)

Great job! Welcome to the community. I'm happy you were able to get your bootloader issues solved.
Re: New Euzebox in a router enclosure
Thanks guys, couldn't be done without your help!
There's lots of info to digest here at the forums and I feel totally lost with the terminology. I guess starting to tinker with electronics at mid-forties doesn't help either

Ah that fits in there like it was made for it, very nice!
