version F1 and ATMEGA644 PIN16 connection to ground

Post by unrw »

Hello everyone.

I found that on hardware version F1 uzebox ATMEGA have pin16 connected to ground as "POWER" switch but version E1 have not such pin connected.

What the purpose of pin16? What if I will connect this pin directly to ground?

The "power" button is just a switch, and it is not always connected to ground; only if you push the momentary button. There is no, or almost no Uzebox programs that does anything with this button yet. It is there since most consoles had a "power" and "reset" button basically, but it is just a general purpose switch that software can detect when grounded, and do whatever is desired.
