Newer compiler - GCC4.9.2 / 492

Post by CunningFellow »

So what version of GCC is everyone using now?

I am using 4.9.2 provided by sprintersb (one of the original maintainers of WINAVR)

http://sourceforge.net/projects/mobilec ... 8Win32%29/

I assume most the windows users are with the standard one in WinAVR - 4.7.x that is pretty awful at optimizing?

Linux and MAC users are probably on 4.8.x or 4.9.x already ?

I know with 4.7 that tornado2000 is a few K lager than it is with 4.9.2 that I presently use and wont fit in the 60K of flash.

Hehe, well don't laugh but I'm still on the latest official and quite old winavr2010. And that's with GCC 4.3.3! I really have to upgrade, I'll try your link.

Those distros don't seem to have avr-gdb required to debug in Eclipse. :(
