programing the atmega

hey.. I was wondering how to program the atmega? I am going to build one of these but thought I would do some reasearsh first. Btw I didn't find the HC-49 in 28Mhz but in 25Mhz is that going to be ok?

use this one
digikey part # 300-8455-ND CRYSTAL 28.63636 MHZ CYL TYPE
Programming is done through the ISP Port (in-system-programming)
Programmers to use ATAVRISP2 Mouser Electronics has this in stock 35.00
or the more expensive ATSTK500-ND but you can do more with this.

thanks for the quick answer... The thing is that I don't live in the us, so don't want to order there. And for the actual programing is it hard? what do you have to do?

I am a hardware guy ,not so good with programming
but uze6666 has already made all the software for the console and plus a game, to get started
I am sure when more people make the console ,more games will be available and add ons
And more info on writing your own games .I know the games are wrote in C.

The thing is that I don't live in the us, so don't want to order there.
Where do you live? Because Digikey is present in many countries: us, canada,uk, japan, germany and korea. They have specific site and prices for these countries.

Yes, Uzebox is currently setup to work on the 28mhz.

I use this circuit of 4 resistors on the parallel port to program my Atmega controllers. I am pretty sure I used the free program PonyProg.
