I agree with u bro uze 100/% YES!!!! It do!!!!!! and yes itz very hard making new good enjoyable gamez n a good comption needz plenty of spare time to get the job done right !
I'm pretty excited to see this go down, though I'll probably only be cheering from the sidelines until I polish up a couple long term games. Contests need deadlines of course and too long seems to dwindle the excitement. What does anyone think about an idea discussed before, something like those WarioWare games or mini-games from Mario Party. If there were space limits(and thus making games small/short develop time) and each entry was basically a free standing program they could be combined into something like Uzeparty Something like each entry gets 8k of space, must use mode 3, and the number of ramtiles/screen height is kown in advance. I think people would be really shocked what they could do with ~8k and a little ingenuity.
Edit: I would love to have Uzebox tshirts available for normal purchase
I kinda agree with you...making games is hard and takes lots of spare time. But, a competition needs an end no?
The big problem for me is I can't say in advance when I have the time to work on a game. For Würgertime, it was 4 weeks in a row and only a few days since November. I have too many other deadlined projects in the pipeline. So basically such a contest for me would be more a time-management problem than a programming or artwork problem. I have to admit that doesn't give me the fuzzy feeling of achieving something.
