Re: Uzebox Sprite Engine (Beta2) - Updated

Not going to tell you what it is yet, but I've completed the graphics for it, now onto the code! Oh Yeah! Want to see that asap! :D Quick confirmation from you guys. I'm cleaning up the code once again for the beta3 release. I removed a lot of assembler functions that were only setting/reading up s...

Re: The Crazy Ideas

If we do a Uzebox 2, it should be worth that name and offer a real upgrade IHMO. Could be, say an AVR32? Natural upgrade path, these chips are quite powerful, yet still offer "limited and challenging" resources. I'm not sure though if its code cache would allow cycle counting the way I'm d...

Re: Beta3 Teaser Demo

My schematic is out of date I know...but much to do these days! :) Yep, the cubes are supposed to spin and move! If "select" is pressed it freezes animation, so that may be the joystick (though I though activating the pull-ups on the joypad line should have resolved that issue). NES and SN...

Re: Heads up on code size.

I could reduce Megatris footprint by optimizing the tileset. Since I had so much space :P I never really bothered. Moreover, in the beta2 rev, I removed the need for an unrolled loop in video mode 1 (tiles only), so a few Kilobytes we're recovered there too. 8K is definitively way too big. Still won...

Re: Dont like the UZEbox

I think this project is really great for learning to programm and work with mcs and also to understand the basics of how such a machine (like the c64..) That's indeed one of the project's goal. Sometime I can't believe all the talented peoples we have on the board. And everybody's sharing up their ...

Link to the board thread (google translated). Interestingly, almost all others praise the Uzebox. :)

Re: Beta3 Teaser Demo

Thanks Clay! After (way) too much hours of coding, I like to create some eye candy to keep me motivated (and find bugs too)! Is that sprite/background priority I'm seeing there?!?!? Nope, It's more section-over-sprites priority. Each section can be dynamically set to be under or over...

Re: my uzebox not run

What are the symptoms exactly? Do you have anything at all on the screen?

Another member had some issues initially and it was all about the fuses that we're not set. Check this topic for some possible solutions.

Cheers,

Re: Uzebox Sprite Engine (Beta2) - Updated

Sorry ravyne, I moved the post your are talking about in the demo forums. I plan to do an "official promo video" very soon coinciding with the release in web shops. In the mean time, I need content! :P More we have, the more appealing for others, and more the Uzebox community will grow. So...
