Re: Uzebox & SRAM
When I was running the 644PU at 28.626MHz using the clock module, I ran it only at 5 volts. I drove almost every IO line, had the program memory full, and used most of the internal SRAM. The only thing I did not test is the EEPROM. Brad Well if we can confirm this works, I can use some of those spa...

Re: Uzebox & SRAM
I had done several experiments with the 1284 as well, I did notice differences if using different types of oscillating components. One was stable at 5.7 volts and the other 6 volts. I figured the only solution was to increase voltage and find an oscillator type and fuse setting combination that woul...

Re: Uzebox SD Gameloader V0.4.2!
Just to throw an idea out, is there a way we can make a self flashing bootloader updater? Like have the bootloader load a normal Uzebox "game". Have this "game" (program) write the new bootloader program in the bootloader space, then reset?

Re: Uzebox enters the matrix!
Uzebox JAMMA doesn't have any controller ports I forgot about that. All games get recompiled with some changes to work on Uzebox Jamma correct? If we have an interface/protocol with a little mcu using a couple pins, we could easily have which pins are used configurable at compile time. In that way,...

Re: Uzebox enters the matrix!
I go for expansion module use.
I don't mind the controller dongle, but the Uzebox JAMMA doesn't have any controller ports!
Not sure how many people will be wifi linking arcade machines though...

Re: Increasing horizontal resolution in video mode 3
Thanks. A lot of stuff about how the video engine works has been cleared up now!
Would it be possible to do RAM tile only (sprites) video mode and achieve a resolution of 320x240 (not 360x240)? This may seem a bit outrageous, I'm just curious if it can be done

Re: Increasing horizontal resolution in video mode 3
That makes sense.
Though I noticed that video mode 9 has a 360x240 screen resolution, how does that work? Do the additional pixels go outside the visible screen space as you mentioned?

Increasing horizontal resolution in video mode 3
Is there a way to get the horizontal resolution of video mode 3 up to 256 wide? I noticed that it can only go up to 240, is there a way to get two more columns of 8x8 tiles squeezed in there or can the kernel not handle it?

Re: Uzebox enters the matrix!
Good idea! For those going the surface mount route, may not be best to waste a socket and not have anything go instead. Rather, use two these on each side to create a 40-pin DIP package: http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/SMH100-LPSE-S20-ST-BK/S9216-ND/2039520 There may have to be some testing...

Re: Uzebox enters the matrix!
Now...how do we make such a "raiser card"? Is there special pins for such usage? We can use something like this: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/8118 A 40-pin DIP wire-wrap socket. The legs are long enough to go through the PCB and into the socket on the Uzebox main board. You can find ...
