Re: New computer

I've not had time to do debian yet. The new computer is running great though. The problem with boot cycling was the front panel USB and reset switch from the old case. The reset switch by itself would work. The front panel USB would work. If the front panel USB and reset switch BOTH plugged into the...

RLE mode should do it I think.

Re: Space Harrier Clone

I posted this under Off Topic because I thought there's no way we'd be able to do a decent Space Harrier on the Uzebox but CF seems to disagree. Im pretty certain that he won't be attempting a Uzebox port of Space Harrier (Clone) but I'm interested to hear how or why he thinks it might be doable. S...

Re: Joust

Contact Rossum and ask about using his code.

He has always seemed like the kind of guy that would be happy :)

Re: Defender

I was fond of Knight Lore on my CPC (and Spindizzy, Head over Heals, Fairlight, Crafton and Xunk).

I think Spindizzy would be doable on Uzebox.

Space Harrier I would not say impossible though. As long as 160pixel wide screen is acceptable.

Re: N64 Controller and Backwards Compatible Analog

Have you considered stepping up to a Tiny412. That way you get hardware SPI for talking back to the uzebox and a CPU core that is much more C friendly.

Re: Tempest is possible

Uze and D3thAdd3r are responsible for how good it sounds.

I am only responsible for breaking the sound and making it sound less good on occasion.

But because I am not audio inclined I don't even notice when I break it.

Re: Defender

I Think Uze Defender will be more colourful. Just as fast. Better Explosions. But no stars in background.

Re: Tempest is possible

Some time back I dropped using my own SD card init routines and instead are using the ones from Jubatians awesome bootloader. So it now supports SD or SDHC. AND it saved flash space using the routines in bootrom - so a win/win. YOU can use a >2GB or a <2GB card - still needs to be fast though. 2 clo...

Re: Tempest is possible

For people that are comfortable with C - I think the best way to get familiar with assembly quickly is to write a function in C and then look at the output (.lss) and use that as a starting point write your routine in ASM. Use -O0 to compile to start with as it will be easier to understand and also ...
