Re: Uzenet

I have a game that I can't release until people can actually setup and use their expansion module(since it's the only technically impressive part of it and emulation is not done) Has the API been expanded to include any Uzenet stuff or are we still doing this the hard way via UART? Additionally, ha...

Re: The quest to a portable Uzebox

Reading your post it was hard not to impulse buy one of those for myself. Finding a monitor that syncs perfectly and has not only audio but a power supply too and it all seems to work out of the box... Seems like you may have stumbled right into the perfect solution to our problem! This is some real...

Re: Uzenet

Some interesting weirdness I've noticed running some basic tests... When logging on/off, the number of users is reported oddly. Log on and the number of users should go up, but it reports as 1. Log off and it should go down but it reports 2. This is consistent too. using the "+bye" command...

Re: request: scrolling tutorial

Bummer about the spammers, but hey, a good scrolling tutorial! The general info on how things worked was there but having a nice, easy to follow How To that ties together the different elements is definitely an improvement

Re: Convert 3-byte RGB to 3-3-2

Your program looks pretty handy nicksen782. Having a tile editor targeted specifically at the Uzebox would definitely speed up the graphics creation pipeline when working on games. At least for me. The current method I use is a bit of juggling GIMP's terrible interface, hand typing out a new xml, th...

Re: Uzenet

BTW try out the emulator version I put a link to in my previous post. There are hex programs(chatter.hex and listener.hex) already set up that will make Uzem show up in the chatroom and you can see the chat on your real hardware! I did just that last night. Was a pretty cool moment to watch as the ...

Re: Uzenet

So I understand you were able to connect to you router? You added a At+CWJAP to set the ssid and password I guess? Yup. Once I had the demo working I just added that step into the initialization for one run, then took it back out. That step can actually be left in of course it's just unnecessary. I...

Re: Uzenet

Got the UzenetDemo compiled, modified slightly to be 80 columns and played with it a bit. Had some troubles initially getting it to talk to my ESP8266 though. Apparently mine prefers 57600 baud. Threw me for a loop since I kind of just anticipated throwing the right AT commands at it and having it w...

Re: Is the uzebox for sale still

There are some possible hardware changes in the works right now but nothing quite finalized as of yet. Also, as far as I know any revisions will be made in such a way that owners of existing hardware will not be left out and will have a means of upgrading via extension PCBs or whatever. No one wants...

Re: Uzenet

Adding an option in our basic WiFi setup program to set your preferred user name would definitely simplify things for most people. If we're already making a wifi setup hex, adding a separate menu option for preferred nickname would make it more of a Uzenet one-stop setup tool. I'd bet the majority o...
