Re: PCB or stripboard layout

Your correct he did not use a PCB. He wire wrapped the whole thing. That's why you can look at the pictures and see all of the wires connecting everything. I would recommend learning to read a schematic. Once you learn to read them you will be prepared for more cool projects that require reading of ...

External Memory

How about the idea of external memory? You could use MMC/Sd for mass storage. This would make it easy to put new games on because you could have an interface that allows you to drag new games without reprogramming the ATMEGA644. The other option is to make a reprogrammable game cartridge using EEPRO...

Re: capacitors

Yes it does matter. As Uze6666 said here is the list of materials. It says the values for the components.

Hope this helps,

Re: Theory of sound generation

Wow that is complex. I can't wait for the advanced documentation.

Thanks for the explanation,

Re: Resistors

All the required resistors are on Digi-Key. You do not have to combine resistors. They should all be 1/4 watt resistors. The 768 ohm resistor is part number 768XBK-ND.

Hope this helps,

Re: UZEBOX Live!??

I also looked into the XPort. The one problem I had was the cost. I do not have a working Uzebox but I am also hacking together a Ethernet port. I didn't go with the XPort due to the cost. I was looking into using the ENC28J60 from Microchip and a Magjack along with a smaller ATtiny13. I was hopping...

Re: NES Controller replacement

This is a very good point. Like you said, putting the two 4021 shift registers on the main circuit would simplify the creation of new controllers. If your planning on building your own Uzebox you should defiantly implement this control.

Great Idea,

Re: UZEBOX Live!??

A setup for Uzebox live would be hard. It would require a few components. The ENC28J60 from Microchip and a Magjack or similar Ethernet port would supply the basic connection needs. The hardest part would be the TCP control. TCP is what would allow your program to the game to have an online interfac...

Re: ATmega644

aphixe - I don't know where the cheapest price is but when you look at shipping costs you would be better off getting all the parts from one place. I would recommend Digi-Key. You could also try to request a free sample from Atmel. vitals817 - The ISP port is where you plug in the programmer. The ch...
