Re: Uzebox revolution!

i tried the 73769 byte spritedemo on my Sony LCD and it looks really whack :(
the top third shifts in color and seems both over & under saturated. will try the original hex next

oddly enough the first 'newengine' looks a little more stable, but basically the same issue occurs

Re: some chips fail overclocking

sure, its not very many...but i think its a good warning for those DIY'ers who might be better off buying 2 chips if they're gettin' them from mouser. can't imagine anything more frustrating than a chip that programs fine, but won't generate video (which happened to one of them)

some chips fail overclocking

FYI, I test all the chips right after programming them in my test rig...but there's been 2 so far that couldn't cope with overclocking. One may be my fault i think, but the other is fresh from the tube and 'kinda' works but has jittery effects & dropped pixels.

Re: Uzebox Sprite Engine Beta3 is released!

they look about the same to me on a little LCD and into a CRT monitor. the letters are a much clearer and the pixelization is less apparent on the '524 so it seems to be fixed!

EEPROM sounds like a good compromise. gotta make sure that the fuse bits are set to not erase the eeprom!

Re: Uzebox Sprite Engine Beta3 is released!

brilliant, i was traumatized because i kept thinking it was a hardware problem (I'd touch the PCB and it would reset  )
