Re: Board revision requests

Label the underside for the EXT connector. Reasons? SNES-like case: I want to put a tiny door under to still be able to access the flipped EXT port, gamepad headers, AV pins. I use those ports for debugging/profiling. P8192666-small.JPG I might flip the ICSP connector too but that's risky. I'd have...

Board revision requests

Since a board revision was mentionned... I'm planning a new minor rev where I will correct all the annoying things from the past like too small pads and I'll probably remove that second regulator too since it's not even on the Portable anyway. I have a few feature requests: alternative micro-SD slot...

Re: Uzenet

thanks for the part numbers. Anyway theses prices are crazy on Digikey, you can get ESP-12F on AliExpress for 2$ shipped. yeaaaa but that sometimes involves waiting 2~3 months. If I was buying 30 I'd go the Aliexpress route but for 1 or 2 I'm willing to throw an extra $12 if I can play with it soone...

Re: /* Bot Spam and IP Bans */

Here we go, that new one is pretty obvious. Bot smart enough to figure out the overall topic (Hardware), but completely misses the mark. http ://uzebox.org/forums/search.php ? author_id=13084&sr=posts One post: Tue Oct 15, 2019 5:20 pm maybe Phenom II X6 at the oldest? you want to at LEAST come ...

Re: Uzenet

I'm ordering a bunch of 128KB SPI RAM (23LC1024-I/P-ND‎) and could only find ESP-12S modules ( https://www.digikey.ca/products/en/rf-if-and-rfid/rf-transceiver-modules/872?k=esp12 ) that's the revision that was available. Would those work? And there's 3 more components that look like the power regul...

Re: Looking to buy a Uzebox kit

I eventually ordered one from a Chinese store, which basically re-sold the Adafruit kit to me. I managed to assemble it into a working state (with few issues, even though this was my first project that involved soldering anything), with the exception of the controller ports. In order to avoid it en...

Re: /* Bot Spam and IP Bans */

What about A.I. chat bots that look at thread posts and then construct odd almost-on-topic posts that hit the uncanny-valley? They're getting pretty darn good, it's scary. They're used in marketing a lot now. Like Google's Dialogflow. ( I've worked on Cover Girl's Olivia Virtual Greeter, and a few o...

Re: MicroDuo if ever (2 x ATmega1284 system)

Also could we merge the gamepads into some other GPIO? MOSI could control the latch (drop MOSI, raise it back up, no SPI clock, SD card sees nothing) SPI clock pin could clock the gamepads as well as clock the SD card (MOSI is sending 0xFF to prevent latching the gamepads, that's a NOP for the SD ca...

Re: MicroDuo if ever (2 x ATmega1284 system)

Makes sense. resistors between the two MCUs to protect from accidental driving on both sides? How about a 9th color pin that forces the output to white? bst/bld could be used with that pin to add some kind of overlay for cheap, or quicker 1bpp output. I'm also trying to figure out a cheap way to swi...
