Re: Tempest is possible

Can't wait to see what the game looks and feels like when you are done. I'm amazed at how much is on the screen at once. It will be cool to see what kind of well optimized video mode you come up with.

Given how well you have done optimizing so far I'm not sure if the h264 comment is a joke.

Re: UCC2014 - Games are in!

I haven't played them all yet, but some real nice entries. You guys are some good coders. I can't wait to look at some of the code for these games.

Re: WIP: Taxi!

The AVR has 64k of flash. 177k isnt going to work. Did you run the hex through packrom?

Unrelated: Uze it looks like someone may have hacked your front page.

Re: PIC with a frame buffer.

I've been following the Prop2 as well. The initial samples had really high thermals. Looking through the documents I see instructions for texture mapping.

I saw a project with one of these on hackaday. It is nice to see someone is looking at the retro minimalist community a little more seriously.

Don't be sorry. You are the boss. Not many could do what you do so just keep truckin. Trust me I tried about one year before you to make vector graphics work so I know I can't do it.

Re: Uzebox DTV

That is pretty damn sweet. Those are some tiny resistors on there. I've soldered some surface mount chips without a soldering station but I don't know if my eyesight is good enough for the resistors.

You rocked that pcb like a boss. Was that a laser printer transfer?

Re: game console project/HQVGA timing parameters

This has been done you can fake 640x480 even on a 20mhz avr. Here is a link: http://www.lucidscience.com/pro-vga%20video%20generator-1.aspx This guy did a framebuffer, but if you did tile sprite based rendering you could make it more useable. Also I think if you took his tutorial and overclocked the...
