Re: How To Uze

It's indeed supposed to sound like yoozbox. :)

Re: Uzebox license

I initially opted for some licence with no commercial use. But some folks convinced me to use a more permissive license like gpl v3. If I could go back, I would have chosen something even more permissive like MIT. But the end, it didn't matter much. In my eyes, anyone could use the code for whatever...

Re: Clone SNES joypad compatibility

I ordered two more of those so-called slow controllers on AliExpress. I'll report when I receive them. BTW, anyone tested them on a real snes to see if they work?

Re: Commander X16

It may have to do with the fact that most of their followers are interested in retro computer, specifically on well known cpus like the 6502. Uzebox is mainly a game console with its own niche but that uses an outdated AV interface. So that may turn some away.

Re: Foenix F256K

I saw this a while ago. My UzeboxPc was to use similar cherry mx switches and key caps so I like the look. But 600$ is a lot of dough to put down for something with an unknown community. Specially with other projects around like the x16.

Re: bintracker

Personally, I was always for a custom VST instrument since it would entail to essentially code the minimum interface and import the Uzebox sound engine. VSTs are supported in most midi editor as well as some trackers. 5 years ago I started looking into this but the ramp up on learning both the JUCE ...

Re: Adrian's Digital Basement

I reckon a kit sent to Adrian should really have a pro made enclosure (like from jlcpcb). It's just so inexpensive now. But that probably just me being perfectionist again. BTW, where is he located?

Re: Hamulet + HAM BOBS

Wow, Impressive graphics, light-years away from the static images of the original HAM mode. :o When I lauched the Uzebox it only had tile modes. I though it would be very hard (if not impossible) to do sprites with the ram constraints. Oh boy was I wrong. Since then, new awesome hacks, tricks and cl...

Re: Flight of a Dragon

Eh, I enjoy the story of how it's made and its challenges as much as the game itself! The reset on every frame part blows my mind! Another clever trick for the uzebox toolkit. :ugeek:
