Re: External LCD screen connections
Just connecting the RGB wires and doing nothing else will get you no picture. You need to provide a dot clock as well. The syncs would need to be changed/extended. If you did these two things but still did not scan double the lines then you would end up with a fat screen than only took up half the v...

Re: External LCD screen connections
possible.
It will be hard work though.
The intermediary microcontroller/FPGA is going to need to scan-double the lines OR if it has enough memory de-interlace.

Re: New Game: Puzzle Wizard (IQ 130+)
Paul,
The artwork looks great. Unfortunately I don't have an iDevice or anything capable of playing it.
You still in Brissy? Do you know of any other people involved in Uzebox in Brissy?

Re: Three new video modes
No prob.
At the moment I am working on an instructable to help promote the coding challenge.
I'll try sneak the video mode in between that and finishing tempest.

Re: Three new video modes
How do the Bright bit Flash bit work? There is 8 set colours for each foreground and background. If bright is set then all 8 colours of both the FG and BG get brighter. If Flash bit is set then FG and BG swap positions or does the FG disappear (become BG) ? If the former then I think it's OK. The la...

Re: Basic Interpreter / Mixing of screen modes
MajorSky78, I can do you a custom mode that splits 360/288 pixels across monochrome text only at the bottom with some other mode (bitmap etc) at the top. The monochrome only part could have full 256 ASCII/Code9 whatever font unlike the full colour mode9 that would take too much flash. I could possib...

Re: Penguin LCD (ATMEGA32)
Well, my idea is still keeping it all digital.
But sucks that I have to use 1000s times more transistors in 2 ICs to convert from landscape to portrait.
Still it is only $10 of chips which is same ballpark as the ADxxx it replaces - plus it has the option to output VGA/DVI instead of NTSC.
