Re: New bootloader

I am totally at loss at this. I reproduced the filesystem structure on an SDHC card (first partition at 0x400000, count of reserved sectors 0x18A0, FAT located accordingly, the SD Association Card formatter ended up producing this for my card), and for me the thing doesn't fail, the bootloader reads...

Re: New bootloader

By what you had sent I suspect it wasn't the empty space which ticked the bootloader off. I analyzed the hex (sent reply by e-mail), and in that one, at the 0x40000E - 0x40000F location the (Little Endian) value 0x18A0 occurs. This pair of bytes stores the count of reserve (logical) sectors before t...

Re: New bootloader

Bootloader faults with some SD cards ( discovered during Tempest SDHC tests ). Some information on this, as far as I see, general limitations of the SD library which might happen to be stressed in this case (if so, I really can't grasp why such formattings are even used): The first partition must st...

Re: Tempest is possible

Wow, nice progress here, I could finally play Tempest on real HW! Unfortunately I had absolutely zero luck reproducing the bootloader issue. No matter what card I used, what filesystem I formatted it with (FAt-16 or FAT32), it just worked. Including things like putting Tempest and its level file on ...

Re: CUzeBox - The new official Uzebox emulator

Would it be possible to add a simple real-time SPIRAM viewer to this? You could press one of the currently unused function keys (F1 or F6) and it would open a small window to the side, like a mini built-in hex editor. Or if that's too complicated to implement, even just being able to dump the SPIRA...

I feel this little Atmega644 still has more juice to offer. :D
To think about that I have the code of an Outrun-style racing game partially designed already... If only I had more energy to do this stuff. But maybe CunningFellow would still come up eventually with a variant of Super Hexagon!

Re: Insane Contraption

Thank you :) I don't feel that much bottlenecked by debugging capabilities myself, I could easily get a functional NTSC signal out of it (since it is by PWM on this system, it is easy to verify that it would be cycle accurate, really, it is actually surprisingly easy to just throw together some rand...

Re: Hi to the UzeBox community

For the super-little Uzebox, wouldn't this one fit?: Uzebox AVCore , the schematics exists on our Downloads page . I have some doubts whether a useful oscilloscope is feasible since normally the highest sample rate which you would be able to get is 15.6KHz, due to how the display works (you can only...

Re: Insane Contraption

Wow, this is awesome! With something like mode 3, would cycles be the limiting factor for the blitter, or would this allow many more 8x8 sprites on the screen than mode 3 does on a Uzebox? Mode 3 is certainly a tricky beast on this one, but once coded, it wouldn't be anything difficult to use in te...

Re: Insane Contraption

Just a bit of (lack of) progress report. Seems like it is a lot more difficult to get myself developing the emulator than soldering stuff together (now that I have the equipment for it). But I would like to innovate in this regard, if I can manage. To build a new emulator based on CUzeBox, retaining...
