Re: How to compile from source?

This depends on the actual game sources. You usually have to edit the included makefile to point to the place where your uzebox kernel sources are - they are compiled into the game, but not shipped with it, remember?

Or maybe the modem manager is hogging ttyACM0. I once helped someone who had a similar problem with a chipcard reader on ttyACM0.

HolyCarHorn wrote:Okay thanks! as I understand avrdude can't read fuse bits
Huh? Wrong, you can read them with:

Code: Select all

$ avrdude -U lfuse:r:-:h
$ avrdude -U hfuse:r:-:h
$ avrdude -U efuse:r:-:h
Plus this, the fuse bytes are printed after each flash operation.
Please read the avrdude manpage.

Re: I broke the bootloader

just note that I don't have a chrystal. Then it won't work if the clock fuse settings in the ATmega644 in question are so it requires an external crystal. Which is the default for a pre-programmed Uzebox controller. If the controller is a blank one from Atmel, it's on RC@1MHz, then flashing it with...

Re: I broke the bootloader

I had this programming problem with too-high frequency a number of times, yet not on the Uzebox but another AVR board. For my own projects I now leave all the clock fuse bits alone and *always* start the AVR with internal RC@1MHz, and the first thing the software does is setting the correct clock it...

Re: I broke the bootloader

1e 95 0f is ATmega328. Are you sure you aren't trying to flash the arduino itself? Your cabling is likely to be wrong.

See e.g. this tutorial https://www.sparkfun.com/tutorials/200 on how to set up the arduino as a flash tool for programming other AVR controllers.

Re: I broke the bootloader

Get the trunk/roms/Bootloader.hex from the Uzebox SVN, connect the Uzebox to Arduino, then flash the Bootloader.hex into the Uzebox with

Code: Select all

$ avrdude -c stk500v1 -p m644 -P usb -U flash:w:Bootloader.hex
Some versions of avrdude may support "arduino" instead of "stk500v1".

Re: Simultaneously press two buttons

Maybe someone will count it as a shameless ad, but there's a simple and complete solution for evaluating the controllers: previous = current; current = ReadJoypad(0); held = current & previous; pressed = current & (current ^ previous); released = previous & (current ^ previous); It sorts out pressed...

Re: Upcoming obscure video modes

I just tried Wurgertime and its pretty good. I hope you get the time to finish it one day. Thanks. I'm currently stuck at the highscore list, which shouldn't be a real problem. Next would be more levels (already prepared) and the third opponent, Mr. Mustard. And of course, a lot of polishing. And s...

Re: Upcoming obscure video modes

Guys, I've had a hard time since last year with my mother suffering from a crippling stroke. I had hardly the time to do my regular job, there was no time for hobbies (like finishing my Würgertime game). Uhn, which "mode 11" we're talking about? However, the basics for "my" mode 11 are there. If any...
