Re: Resistors
All resistors can be found at Digikey. Sometime your need to search in metal-film type. All of them are 1/4W. Here's a dump of most parts used. The part number are DigiKey's. I looked for the 768ohm and they have plenty (768XBK-ND). I will try to update the BOM with this stuff when I have time. Hey ...

Re: Theory of sound generation
Woa. That's quite complex stuff to explain in a forum thread. Even simplified! I'm currently writing some more advanced documentation, with pictures and everything to make sound and video principles easier to digest. It won't be ready until a couple of days but, in the meantime, I can give you some ...
Re: ATmega644
I highly recommend Digi-Key, I buy all my stuff from there. All duty and brokerage fees are included in the catalog prices, so thats a blessing if you are living outside the US. To program AVRs, the cheapest way I know of is the Atmel ATAVRISP2 (as CompMan mentionned). You can get it at Digikey for ...

Re: UZEBOX Live!??
You are right, the XPort is a bit expensive at around US 55$ plus shipping. But you know, I probably burnt around 500$ experimenting and buying wrong parts...so 50$ seemed small in comparision. :D On one hand, there's simplicity and the other the challenge and fun of learning how networking works. T...

Re: NES Controller replacement
Well, I considered a few options for the inputs but, quite frankly, Nintendo sold literally hundreds of millions of NES/Famicom. They are immediately recognizable and gives, IMHO, a nice retro look to the console. Also, the prime design goal was to keep the parts count as low as possible. Neverthele...

Re: UZEBOX Live!??
Hi to all, These days, I'm hacking something along these lines (not the Live! service, the Ethernet part ;) ). As CompMan mentioned, an IP stack is possible, but not with a game engine eating up all RAM. Instead, I used the same philosophy as for the color generation, I went for the easy way, yet a ...

First post: Welcome to the Uzebox forums!
Welcome to the Uzebox project forums. This place is dedicated to all you electronics freaks and hackers outhere. The Uzebox is the result of more than 3 years of hacking on my spare time, so I hope its useful to you! The uttermost goal of the project was to design some reusable kernel of common vide...
