Re: Adventures Of Lolo

I'm doing pretty well on flash ~57k with full graphics load, sprite flipping is where it's at. Editor shouldn't take up too much, no bells/whistles and it reuses the normal engine functions. The question of usefulness comes to mind of course but is overridden by cool factor.

Re: RC Pro Am

Just wanted to make a little update about Uze Pro Am or whatever it's name will be since I started another project. It's really in a state of big rethought at the moment but it's not abandoned. I was really spending a lot of effort on the track format in order to achieve small turn segments being ab...

Re: Raycaster Experiment

Texture mapping on Uzebox and it's good, this really amazes me! Do you have some kind of system/idea to handle wolfenstein type doors? In the new video mode if there was some advantage to not drawing some top and bottom pixels that would look really good in a wide screen setup. Can't wait to see it ...

Adventures Of Lolo

Here's the thread for Adventures of Lolo. Attached is a hex file with the current progress. Check out the wiki I will get a little more info up there as it nears playable status. Big props to Uze for the well done level music, and useful suggestions. Thanks also to Paul for his useful suggestions. P...

Re: Raycaster Experiment

Nice! Very cool and ambitious concept. If you can pull off texture mapping I will likely pee a little. But failing that what about using some kind of alternating stippling on the walls/floor with spacing in relation to distance? That might work well to convey distance plus no texture look up. Please...

Re: Graphics Chip

It would be more realistic to emulate Uzebox games on SNES. C64/NES/GB/SNES have more usable ram than Uzebox so....games need to be "re-interpreted". It would take more than small additions to Uzebox to allow for this. Pong and Pacman are very well done classic games but I don't think they were mean...

Re: Zelda 2 on Uzebox

I implemented something simple and similar for overcast weather/lightning effects in rc pro am just manually controlling ProcessFading(). It seems to me appropriately designed graphics and fade tables could work together for palette like effects/free animations. Perhaps by using a ram fade table ske...

Re: LePlatz - Platz Level Editor

Wow, this is really impressive stuff. Platz is a serious asset to the future of Uzebox games and now it's even better. :D Very nice work Paul.

Re: Video Mode Ideas.

Really seems unlikely to transform, depth sort, clip any useful amount of free rotation polygons no matter what you do. I could see some sort of vertical column RLE. Maybe a small voxel demo? If you always started as a length of blue sky color, then 3 lengths of a ground color based on what scanline y...
