Re: ESP8266 bootloader?

Really interesting idea. I would have to believe it is possible, as the MCU on the ESP8266(which drives the separate WiFi chip) has been used as a C64 emulator, a standalone game console bitbanging, I think composite color via artifacts timing or some such, etc. A totally custom firmware is possible...

Re: Uzenet

One thought I had, is to utilize ESP8266 EEPROM to the max and avoid as much state handling as possible in games. IDs, passwords, etc. can be stored as MAC addresses for instance, without breaking network operations. If I recall the station and access point have different MACs which can be customize...

Re: Uzenet

I have to find the code I had, but essentially the setup thing was not ready for distribution. It detected the baud rate, set mode stuff, ran the list APs command and dumped that to a window you could choose one from. Then a password screen, that was about all that was finalized. Never got firmware ...

Re: Weber's Rants (tutorials)

TQ should write data in the 16th sector from the start of that file, so with a file smaller than that I don't know what would/should happen in an emulated environment. I planned to have AE use that file as well but no released version currently does so. It could make sense to have Emuze have load/sa...

Re: Uzebox Data Manager - For managing your local Uzebox library

I like the idea and you have a significant part done on the backend web part already. In my view, it would be useful to have exactly 1 "perfect rom set" like what you have for the web based emulator. Then just wipe the directory and write everything new sector by sector. Could be a better way to do ...

Re: Alter Ego

Thank you, I appreciate that :) I still remember fondly digging around NES homebrew by Shiru and realizing this game which would work perfectly for the state of Uzebox at that time(SD usage just coming into vogue). I had some progress quite a while back at converting AE to sdSimple, and that change ...

Re: Tank Fu

This is awesome!!

Would you mind posting a video of multiplayer in action? I think there are many not in your position to easily set such a thing up at the moment; myself included! I am really curious what the latency plays out like in a real time game.
