Re: Fade In / Fade Out Effect

ugh, my fade only works on whites (or colors close to white)

definitely not right for a color image. (testing on the megatris gets really ugly :-)

pragma's was closer to the right idea... mine is pretty dumb (except for monochrome, where it works great. :-)

Re: Fade In / Fade Out Effect

And in case anyone out there is lazy and doesn't want to write up a test program himself, here's "tutorial.c" with the fade (my version) added. #include <stdbool.h> #include <avr/io.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <avr/pgmspace.h> #include "kernel/uzebox.h" #include "data/fonts.pic.inc" const char s...

Re: Fade In / Fade Out Effect

The emulator fix is very easy. (I've tried it and it works great.) Just change this: else if (addr == ports::PORTC) { pixel = palette[value]; } to this: else if (addr == ports::PORTC) { pixel = palette[value&DDRC]; } But I think this is a better fade: unsigned char fader[8]={ // BB GGG RRR 0x00, // ...

Re: Emulator - get latest release here.

Prebuilt executable for Mac OS X. It is a Universal Binary (both Intel and PowerPC) built for Leopard (Mac OS X 10.5). It requires the framework version of SDL. Put SDL.framework in either /Library/Frameworks or ~/library/Frameworks. Get it here: http://www.libsdl.org/download-1.2.php Includes execu...

Re: Uzebox Emulator!

Here's a prebuilt Mac OS X executable of the latest version. Again it's a universal binary, compiled for Leopard, which needs the SDL framework. Haven't had a chance to try the code on a Mac yet today -- do sound and fullscreen mode work? (I assume 800x600 mode is common enough to work on a Mac as ...

Re: Emulator?

If anyone wants a pre-built copy for Mac OS X, here's one. It's a universal binary, so it should work on both Intel and PowerPC macs. I don't know whether or not it will work on systems prior to Leopard (10.5.0) but if it doesn't, then you can still follow the instructions on the included readme to ...

Re: Thanks for Licensing under the GPL and CC BY-SA

Is there any particular reason that the GPL was chosen for the kernel, rather than the LGPL (or even a more permissive license, such as a BSD license)? Given the way the GPL is written, it means no one can distribute executables using the kernel code w/o also distributing source to their code under ...

Re: Uzebox revolution!

What I really want to try this on is an old Apple II RGB CRT. I believe RGB CRT was based on NTSC synchronization, but it has straight through RGB inputs  That would be pretty cool just to see if it worked. Too bad I don't have one. I have the RGB monitor which came with the Apple IIgs. I ...

Re: Uzebox revolution!

I just built a Fuzebox kit yesterday. (nice job on the kit, ladyada!) Here are my results, using composite output on a Sony CRT television: 0: lots of garbage. some very noticeable diagonal stripes on the hills in the background. (I'll try to take a picture soon.) 1: significantly improved. most col...
