Re: Dont like the UZEbox

While I would love an NES that was 2-chip simple, I really don't see it happening. If you are using a display that takes RGB then you can even skip the second chip, it is freaking cheap and simple. SD support, this is amazing, you can get flash support for storing your program for about the price of...

Re: Uzebox DTV!

Have you seen the pandora? http://openpandora.org/ the OMAP3530 looks like quite a toy. In this crowd maybe the $150 Beagleboard with DVI output is more their speed? But I am sure they know about it. Edit, looks like you guys covered it. Cool on the controller. I am still torn because I just put a ...

Re: Hacking a joypad

The PCB looks very similar to that, only the layout is a little different. Ladyada, you see the big black blob? That's the chip, so I don't think it will be possible to remove it without damaging the cheap paper board. . . I am pretty sure with a dremel or a knife you could pop that off, or just re...

Does the PCB look like this? http://lh3.ggpht.com/nubie07/SNssrOy3QcI/AAAAAAAAA5k/GdX9B0A9Q1k/s400/controller%20PCB%20Front.JPG http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/LXFAuKNdYsvyIaZN4blLHA I got this from a 6-button (+ start) Genesis look-alike from the "super joy 3" pack http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki...

Re: Other possible chips?

If you want to save money and your TV has RGB or SCART input you can not use the RGB to NTSC chip. In USA there is no SCART connector on the television, so we need to use NTSC chip, in Europe/UK you should be able to use SCART. I am not sure about PAL TV's though, I guess just try it and find out. D...

I dunno, it isn't too useful without a means to edit it, unless somebody can upload a version with the Uzebox mhz.

Re: Increadibly useful Spreadsheet for calculating pixel clocks

Will it work in OpenOffice or GoogleDocs? You know, for those of us without $xxx to burn, or who don't pirate Excel. I will try GoogleDocs now. Success with GoogleDocs (to my untrained eye, it does seem to add a lot of $$ signs in various places. I changed the clock from 33.33333 to 22 and all the n...

Re: breadboard Uzebox without AD725

Cool. If you are into hacking or making it portable check out the benheck.com forums. One popular modification is to use white LEDs as the backlight http://picasaweb.google.com/nubie07/PortableSegaGenesisRadicaAudiovoxD1500A#5171043258831395442 , I had to use a piece of backlight material from a 15"...

Re: encolsure (the box in uzebox)

Cool, will there be room for RGB output?

I am thinking of using a 4-pin 3.5mm jack and instead of Stereo A/V just use it for RGB ;) (If you are a nutty RGB fan that is.)

DIY kit cost?
