Re: Clone SNES joypad compatibility
Wow. All the clone ones I pulled apart for the DTV all had black blobs that had PCBs that made it look like it was two 4000 series chip under the black blob. Re: Is Uzebox the most elite console platform?
I'd say it needs a port of Elite to make sure it is there.
I certainly think it is the most fun and most challenging platform to push the boundaries on.

Re: How many Uzeboxes have you built?
Well - I have a pick and place machine and only hand soldered a handful of the "production run". 80 of those 105 only involved hand soldering on the shoulder buttons - and maybe a few ISP headers if the end user wanted to be able to flash bootloaders.

Re: Insane Contraption
He is doing a pretty good job of making software for it.
No FPGA. In fact no CPU. He is doing everything from 7400 logic.
100% surface mount though. It would be way to slow and horrible to try make something with those nasty, hard to use through hole things.

Re: Insane Contraption
Maybe when James Sharman has completed his you might be able to build a complete one.
I've got no hope of eve documenting either of the ones I did in the past.

Re: Chickens In Choppers
This friends, is an example of "path lock in" Chickens did not actually use the data file. The datafile on Chickens is empty. The only reason it had a datafile is because the game was written in 2 days and was 90% cut and paste from Tornado2000. I just spent hours trying to work out why I ...
