Oh great, commissions!

Should we create a deviant art group for Uzebox games? No kidding 8-)

Re: Getting back into the swing.

The next option is a limited color mode to save flash and ram space. Something like 5 bits then store the data in 16 bit clusters. Use bit masks to remove the 3 pixels from a 16 bit int and buffer the extra bit for use in stuff like collision data. I don't know if it's possible to do a duo-tone or ...

Re: Is there any MapSprite2 limitation?

That 3x3 player sprite would need 16 RAM tiles when not aligned at all. Have you properly configured the tiles count in the Makefile?

Re: Is there any MapSprite2 limitation?

sorry forgot to mention... I'm using Video Mode 3 that looks (just looks :D ) easier! The mapping in mode 3 is limited on the number of RAM tiles used. As each RAM tile takes up 64 bytes, you can have ~38 of them at max. This depends on how much global variables you have and which stack size you ne...

Re: Some test about ISP and why it does not work

but ATMEL644 from kits may not be "ISP" using the minimum circuit, it might be set using external crystal oscillator, with 20 M frequency. I bet is is. They have to test each individual chip if it runs stable at 28MHz, as this is beyond the maximum rating from the datasheet. I doubt they have reset...

Re: Why my ISP dose not work?

(1) atmega644 is programmed with "game loader", which won't allow ISP? This is a common misconception how the ISP works which circulates around AVR newbies. Forget it immediately :o ISP is a hardware built into the chip and has nothing to do with a bootloader image which may or may not be on the ch...

Re: Why my ISP dose not work?

avrdude -c usbasp -p m644 -B 4 -U flash:w:Megatris.hex -U efuse:w:0xFE:m -U hfuse:w:0xD2:m -U lfuse:w:0xFF:m I never tried the usbasp interface type directly, only the avrisp2 emulation the thing has. Can you program other AVRs with the "usbasp" setting? My .avrduderc for the USBasp reads default_p...

That won't work, HTML isn't allowed in the forums to avoid spamming. Just use [url] bbcodes, anyone interested would click anyway.

Re: post your game ideas

I was thinking of a more general solution for the most video modes we already have. At the beginning of each raster line, it could be checked whether we are at the next section start (a single cmp) and if yes, the pointer is incremented and an init routine for that new screen section is started. Tha...

Re: post your game ideas

If you need two separate horizontal sections below each other, you have to tweak the mode 3 code the way it starts over with a second screen start address after some raster line. That's not so hard to do. I strongly vote for having a generic raster line API in mode3, which allows you to setup a numb...
