Re: Uzebox Store is Open!

I just ordered a kit (remember a long long time ago I tried my own hardware but couldn't get anything but greyscale to output). I ordered it on Saturday (the 8th), and it came in this morning (the 11th). Dayum! Digikey doesn't even ship that fast! Thanks, uze, I will be assembling this soon and comi...

Re: Uzebox PCB!

This is great! Seeing as I still haven't sorted out my colour issue (mostly from lack of trying due to a ridiculously busy schedule :(), I would definitely purchase one of these! Looks great!

Re: Black and white :/

Bleh.. unfortunately, that didn't help.. the clk line is definitely connected to the 644 and I'm definitely using the COMP pin. After playing with it a bit I was able to tint everything red by shorting some stuff out with my finger, so that leads me to believe that the R2R ladder is at fault somehow...

Black and white :/

Hello all! I'm back again... This time I'm making an actual much better Uzebox board than my last one - on a double-sided copper clad board. I've put it all together, and the timing issues I had with my old one are gone. Unfortunately, there is no colour! I've checked the D2A ladder connectio...

Re: Reliable SD cards?

As far as I know, Sandisk SD cards are typically the highest quality (so long as they're actually Sandisk cards!). I've heard some bad stuff about Kingston cards - their manufacturers in China don't always hold up apparently.

Re: Help!

I'll look into it. I've never done such a thing, but with some bitmasking tricks, I think I might get it to work.

Re: Help!

Will definitely do! (When I have free time that is..) Anyway, here is what it currently looks like running on a portable DVD player: http://hamaluik.com/images/thumb.matrix.jpg It's running a matrix screensaver, I made just for you, Uze! More details (and download!) about the screensaver can be foun...

Re: Help!

Ok, well now I feel like a fool. I resoldered all the connections (re-melted them, really), especially the ground ones. The output signals still weren't perfect on the scope, so I didn't think that fixed anything. Came home and tried it on the TV, and BOOM! Perfect. Like, really perfect image on eve...

Re: Help!

Ok, I've got a couple new crystals, and an external oscillator on the way. By gosh or by golly, I'm going to make this work! I'll also try it on a new perfboard, as I've had problems with this type of perfboard before (from China..), though I checked the one I'm using out, and it seemed decent. What...

Re: Help!

Ok, I tested the oscillator frequency (setting CKOUT fuse bit), and the oscillator is running at 28.57 MHz. I feel like this is my timing problem, but there's likely other problems as well. I've attached pictures of the oscilliscope readings at various locations in the circuit: CKOUT signal: http://...
