Re: Basic Interpreter

Another little update! I reworked the array mechanism. There is now a fixed array for 256 integer variables (16 bit). This is 512 bytes in the RAM. In the beginning of the program, you can use DIM to reserve your arrays. There will be no malloc/free used for this. In the next step, I will try to swi...

Re: Basic Interpreter / Mixing of screen modes

The interface looks really cool! And how fast you did it... I also worked a little bit on the interpreter. It reads the basic sourcecode now from SD card. First, I just read every byte by using pf_read. This was REALLY slow, even in the emulator. Then, I implemented a 64 byte buffer. There are three...

Re: Basic Interpreter / Mixing of screen modes

Hi again! Reason for the chnage was the following: I added a command ("CLS" to clear screen) to the token structure and suddenly the unit stopped working. As the only change was that I increased the total structure size, I tried to minimize this. Therefore, I changed the token datatype from 16 bit t...

Re: Basic Interpreter / Mixing of screen modes

Hi again, SCREEN command is possible, for sure! There is no need for mixing... I just checked out, how many RAM is left. When I turn the music mixer to inline mixing, there is 1684 bytes left with Mode 9, which already has a VRAM of 1680 bytes. So in total, 3364 bytes are there for VRAM (, heap and ...

Re: Basic Interpreter / Mixing of screen modes

Thanks for the hints... I will change optimization for debugging and try again. I used avr-insight, because it was already there... I also don't like it really. For the video mode, I have the following requirements: - don't use too much RAM - "high res" text mode - be able to load user defined graph...

Re: Basic Interpreter / Mixing of screen modes WIP

Hi there! Below, you can find a first version together with some questions... The ZIP file, you can unzip in the "demos" folder of the trunk. With the batch file "compile.bat", you can compile the files. During porting the ubasic interpreter, I found some strange things... 1. "20140214_uzebasic_work...

Re: Basic Interpreter / Mixing of screen modes

For Mode 8 with 120x96 pixels, showing some simple bitmaps (thinking of a graphics adventure) could be possible. But text with 120x96 pixels would only be about 20x12 characters, which is not so much. High resolution Mode 9 really looks good for text. Problem here is, that user defined graphics is n...

Basic Interpreter / Mixing of screen modes

Hi! I just started working a little bit with uzebox and emulator. I took the ubasic interpreter from Adam Dunkels (http://dunkels.com/adam/ubasic/) and integrated it into the demo for Videomode9. Next step will be to change the source of the RAM sourcecode from RAM array to SD card. When the current...

Re: Atxmega NEW powerkill CONSOLE

Hi!

Great work so far!!! Looks very promising!

Is the automatic adressing now finally working? I did not see any more investigations about this.
It would be a pity, if we have this possibility, but cannot use it because of SW or HW bug?

Regards,
Andre
