Re: Clone SNES joypad compatibility
Hold on, the saga continues. I dug out the controller Dan sent me and while it's a different PCB, it also uses a 16 pin chip with the same pinout (though they are slightly wider). If you recall, I could make it work . Dan's controller starts working normally as soon as I have Left or Down make conta...

Re: Clone SNES joypad compatibility
Now a uC must be cheaper than a couple of 4000. I remembered that EEVBLOG video talking about those 5 cents Padauk MCUs. That was 5 years ago so I would bet they may be even cheaper now. I found this one that has the power on the same pins. So what code should be used to handle those slow controlle...

Re: Hyperkin SNES mouse issues
Seems I missed a lot since 2-3 weeks. Is the jump/skip issue resolved?

Re: Minimal 64x4
Totally agreed! It's always been my philosophy that to invest any efforts in projects it has to be relatively easy to build by hobbyists with PCB plans and documentation. So this one is a win for sure.

Re: How many Uzeboxes have you built?
Made hundreds of kits but only fully assembled perhaps two dozens over the years (including the portable and pc versions). Now that I think about it, I really need to take a "family picture" of all the models made. Prototype, Fuzebox, Avcore, Uzeboxes, Uzebox JAMMA, CF's, portable...quite a...

Re: Uzebox 3D printed enclosure!
Uze: what do you think about making the 25u tolerance version of the cover the default then I can remove the alternate cover files section from https://uzebox.org/wiki/3D_printed_case ? 25u is too tight for most hobbyist printers out there IHMO. I wouldn't go under 100u-150u since it works for most...

Re: Clone SNES joypad compatibility
Here's the schematic. Somehow the Select pin and Data out lines are multiplexed via a resistor! Looking at the power distribution on the chip, it sure does looks like a microcontroller. And probably those ultracheap < 5¢ chinese MCUs. In any case, that would certainly explain their use and the slow ...

Re: Clone SNES joypad compatibility
Did some testing tonight on one of those slow controllers that just glitches in the controller tester. I can confirm it works on my stock SNES. But on the Uzebox, the proposed capacitor hack didn't do anything neither bypassing the controller's cord+connector. Though, doing so, I noticed something t...
