I'd like to see the schematic for the adapter too. BTW the atmega1284P isn't 100% compatible with the '644P, it's a superset in that it has a SECOND 16 bit timer counter unit. This is burried in the data sheets since Atmel has TWO different data sheets for the device. One covers ONLY the atmega1284P...

I've ordered a new batch of 10 and they should arrive within 1-2 week. Btw I still have a couple PCBs available that were not electrically tested. But I've made them with 10mils for traces and spacing so they are most certainly just fine. Let me know if your interested. So the layout of these board...

Samples are great...when you receive some. :( And then, it not of much use for kit makers. Only meant as an answer for anyone building from scratch. Since I'd need the base 3.59Mhz for the chrominance modulation why now use that as the crystal? I understand the PLL could multiply that to 28.6, 32.2...

I first used this chip almost a year ago. We had some problems with GCC where an application that worked on the xmega128a3 did NOT work on the xmega256a3 even though the only important differences between the two is just the upper memory limits. Something to do with the way GCC fakes pointers larger...

The atxmega256a3 is available now. schmartboards can be used as breakout boards and you can solder a .5mm TFQP to them with a fine tip soldering iron. Might need a level translator to feed the D/A resistors or change values as the xmega is a 3.3 volt part. The xmega will require code changes to hand...
